Need a hand?
1. Start with the FAQ or docs
Most questions we get are already answered on the FAQ page. “Is it really free?” “Does it send my colors anywhere?” “What about Digital Color Meter?” — all in there. For step-by-step walkthroughs of every feature, see the docs. Skim those first. You might save yourself an email, and us some thumb cramps.
2. Can’t find ColorCopy after installing it?
This is the most common one. ColorCopy has no dock icon and no main window. It lives entirely in the menu bar, up near the clock. If you launched it and don’t see it there, your menu bar is probably full: macOS hides overflow icons when there’s no room, and the notch on laptops makes that happen sooner. Quit a few other menu bar apps, or use a menu bar manager like Ice or Bartender to reveal hidden items. Also make sure ColorCopy is running by opening it again from your Applications folder — it won’t open a window, but the icon will appear. If it’s just hard to spot, open Settings → General → Menu bar icon and pick a more visible style.
3. Restore a purchase
If you bought ColorCopy Pro on another Mac and want it unlocked here, open ColorCopy, head to Settings → About, and click Restore Purchase. As long as you’re signed into the same Apple ID that made the original purchase, it’ll come right back.
4. Refunds
Refunds for ColorCopy Pro are handled by Apple, not by us — we literally can’t process them. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and request a refund for the purchase. Apple usually gets back to you within a couple of days.
5. Something’s broken
Bugs happen. If the app is misbehaving, a quick restart often sorts it out. If it doesn’t, describing what you were doing, what you expected, and what actually happened. Screenshots are welcome. Angry screenshots are also welcome — we get it.
6. Feature requests
Got an idea for a new color format, a workflow tweak, or something we haven’t thought of? We’d love to hear it. We can’t promise to build everything, but we read every suggestion.
7. Everything else
Questions, compliments, complaints, press inquiries, existential doubts about hex codes. All are welcome. But be nice…we’re only human.
